Over the past month or so I have been seeing the name Emily Ratajkowski popping up more frequently in the style sections of most on line fashion magazines. If the name does not sound familiar, you may recognize her face from Robin Thicke’s highly controversial Blurred lines music video, but if you’ve seen Gone Girl, you’ll also recognize her as the mistress of Ben Afflecks character.
With her striking features and incredibly hard to spell surname, you would think that Emily hails from the footholds of Russia, how ever, she was born in London in 1994, to American parents and was raised in California. If you are incredibly surprised by this piece of trivia I just served you, join the club, we have jackets.
Her next project and the highly anticipated (if you’re a Zac Efron fan that is) is We Are Your Friends. She recently has been doing a press tour for the movie, and a few of her looks have caught my attention. My favourtie being a monochrome ensemble. A fitted long sleeved dress, with knee high boots, which almost had a 60s feel to it.
Emily was also a common face at fashion week this year, although she is also a model (she has recently been named as one of the new faces for Marc Jacobs fall/winter campaign), Emily was seen among the guests. One of my favourite looks being a black slim fit Cushnie et Ochs Dress.
Emily style is almost retro, with pieces that could easily be placed in another era in fashion. Her style almost mirrors the 70s (for the most part) with her day to day style having a some what bohemian feel to it. Her style is comfortable, casual and simple, making her outfits the perfect inspiration for your weekend style (or weekday, depending on what you do with your time really).
Emily is a face, that I believe we will be seeing a lot of both on the big screen and in our magazines. She is the guest editor for the September issue of Harpers Bazaar, showing everyone that this women is more than just a absolutely stunning face, with her crushable style and ridiculous body goals, I can’t wait to get my hands on the issue.
